Finding The Message
Is there a message?
We all have an inner voice. Everything has an inner voice. From you, to your cells, to the atomic structure which makes up your cells— each has an inner voice. Every particle in our universe has an inner voice. Humans have the quality of forcing their apparent inner voice to say whatever they want. That's not the inner voice. The inner voice comes from real listening and respect.

I was taught to pray to the North: "You are Creation without a Creator." I really struggled with that idea. I kept trying to say, "You are the Creator." Each time, I was corrected. With time I learned that Creation is a verb, a never ending activity whereas Creator is a nown.

Students of the cosmos believe that our universe was born between 16 to 20 billion years ago. They estimate that there are around 8 billion galaxies. Although we know very little about the cosmos we can see that certain principals guide it. The principals which we have identified so far hold parts of the message. It would be helpful to look at those principals as a message instead of laws.

At each stage of human development, people could understand a little more. They created new ideas which went along with those understandings. Sometimes our ideas focused on just one aspect of that new comprehension. When that happed, we lost sight of the greater notion. It really is important that we understand - and so, the message keeps coming, keeps repeating itself. Sometimes we catch on and sometimes we don't. Sometimes we like an old idea so much that we will fight with all our strength to hold on to it. OK. But, other folks had better listen for the next part of the message so that humanity can go on.
This is my method.
These symbols are based on designs found on pottery from an incredible site in north Florida. They are some of the symbols which I have adapted to my search for understanding.
NORTH:

Everything has beginnings. We are beginnings within beginnings. This is the symbol I use for the beginning of our cosmos. I feel comfortable with the idea that there are many other universes and untold numbers which came before ours. This is my symbol for creation (the verb)—the creative force. Here, I face the "birth on-going". Every time I consider this symbol, I try to understand new aspects of creativity. I consider everything from the historical, to the biological, to atomic, to cultural, to our personal forms of creativity. Of course, I take these ideas a little at a time. I just enjoy them as they come.
The message is constant throughout the cosmos.
We are part of an incredible thing. It is not male or female. It is every sex found in the cosmos. It's not in just human form. It's in every form. It's creation, a verb. Creation is the Unified Field. Everything is a part of it, all at one time. It is the creative force.

There is no reason to feel small and insignificant. Each of us is like a thread in the fabric of the cosmos. The good truth is that you are part of something far greater than an old white man resting in the clouds. Hold on— prayer works because you are connected—not just to a father symbol.
EAST:

Everything is made up of energy in different states. Energy is the gift and we are all its gifted. It's the dance of particles, waves, beams. Plants lovingly absorb energy, cradeling it in their cells. Plants have a wonderful gift of sharing that energy. Consider the relationship of energy in your life and the cosmos around you, it offers wonderful insights.
Everything is a reflection of Creation. That reflection shouts that Creation is intelligent.
Let's step outside of purely human terms. In the cosmos, there is no right and wrong. There is no good and evil. There is, however, composition and decomposition. When a thing is decomposing, we often refer to it as corrupt, rotting, spoiled, ruined, bad, or evil. It's a system which is breaking down so that it can be used again. If something harms us or opposes us, we say that it is "bad". If something helps us we say that it's "good". Why do bad things happen to good people? Well, sometimes they are part of a greater system of decomposition.I see corruption as a system that makes an error but can't or won't recognize it as an error. Everything makes mistakes. It's one way we learn. Understand the mistake and correct your course. But systems which lie to themselves are in a state of decomposition. If you live within that system you may find that you are terribly tortured. Try to find some part of the system which is not corrupt and you may find yourself successful again. If you can't, cover your ass.
SOUTH:

The chemistry of life throughout the cosmos is truly magical. Everything alive shares that magic with you. Everywhere around you is life's diversity and abundance. Reach out to know the wonder that you are a part of. This chemistry loaned you the eyes you look through. We are easily confused by our notion of ownership. We believe that we own our bodies and our minds. Even the very memories of your life experience will return to the chemistry of life. We are this wonderful moment to explore and share. We are a part of something greater than ourselves.
Celebrating our part in it.
Joseph Campbell wrote about following your bliss. In the story of decomposition, there is the notion of following your anger, hatred, jealously, or greed. A million roads lead to decomposition. A million roads lead to composition. We are not here to be cradled in happiness or joy, we are here for a far more wonderful purpose, we are here to learn "cause and effect: and to develope the story of our connections beneath a fantastic starry night. This is our home world. If we ruin it, no father figure will come down out of the clouds to clean up our mess. Against that starry night, you carry possibilities around with you. They're in your hands and your heart.

Everything has an inner voice. So first, it is important to use all your senses to understand the world around you. Technology has offered you new tools to heighten your senses. Use them. I'm not talking drugs here. I'm talking about tools which enhance your senses without distorting your perceptions. Look through a microscope. Look through a telescope. Take the time to listen to the world around you. The loud sounds of humankind are a part of your discovery.

We have a tendency to be overwhelmed. It sends our senses into overdrive and that's exciting. It's us, listening to us. It's us, seeing ourselves. It extends ourselves. OK. It's fun. It'll tell you nothing about the world around you but the pure joy of flight, tolerance, and limitations.

If you're looking for who you are in the magnificent picture of things, you'll need to take a little time to discover what you are truly a part of. Listen to the world around you too.
WEST:

You are woven into the story of it all. You are woven together with everything within your experience, and everything else supports that. Your story is the most valuable thing you have. It may be the only thing you really have. It is the fiber of our lives. Colored by our environment, tinted by our experiences, it is spun together through our unique genetic-emotional moment and woven into the fabric of the cosmos.
